The mission of Caritas of Austin is to provide a home and tailored services to prevent and end homelessness. For over 60 years, Caritas of Austin has been the leader in housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness in Austin. Caritas prioritizes providing permanent housing to people experiencing homelessness as the first and foundational step to rebuilding stability.

Caritas believes that a stable home is the platform from which people can pursue personal goals and reach their full potential. It is nearly impossible to address higher-level needs in one's life, such as mental health or employment, without the security of a safe, permanent home. Each client is assigned to a case manager who works with them to achieve stabilization and set goals.
